A bit of a pain to have to constantly do! This code will fix that. This bug has been reported previously, but the resolution I've seen has been to unplug the receiver and plug it back in. Now since a week, the functioning has been erratic. I will be creating Ubuntu and Fedora packages shortly. I bought a Microsoft Wireless Bluetrack Mobile Mouse 3500 in Apr/2011. This code is released under the GNU GPL v2 license. Only if the mouse matches vendor (Microsoft) and product code (a series of Microsoft Wireless mice) it will check for this usb setting. This program basically just resets a setting in the mouse through usb communications and then exits. Using a small pointed object, such as a straight pin or the tip of a ball point pen, push the button and hold it down. Usually either pressing the tiny switch where the dongle lives when not in use, or re-plugging the dongle into a USB socket connects/resets it. It works similar to Bluetooth, but each pair has a dedicated frequency. Only needed if you dual boot between Microsoft Windows and some linux distro. I have created a userland application, resetmsmice, which fixes scroll wheel issues with certain Wireless Microsoft mice in X.org (includes KDE & Gnome applications), where the vertical wheel scrolls abnormally fast.
